Your 2010-2011 MHS Red & Blue Marching Band

Announcements

• Check website and calendar, as the schedule for the remainder of the week may change with the weather.
• There will be a band camp meeting on Wednesday, July 28th @ 7:00 pm, for new parents and those with questions. 
• The Band Camp page (link to the left) has a list of what to bring, the weeks activities/themes, as well as directions to Jackson’s Mill and a map of the camp.
• The chaperone list for band camp is posted on the band camp 2010 page to the left

Reminders

• Bring water bottles to practice, as it will be warm.
• Dress appropriately for practices, including shoes and socks, no sandles or flip-flops.
• The 2010-2011 Calendar has been updated through December (some schedule changes are possible)
• Updated forms are now available on the forms page.  Click on the Forms tab to the left.
• Band Registration forms, Parent/Student contracts, Physical Exam form, Medical History form, as well as the band camp fees, and uniform/instrument fees are due.  Either mail them to the address below, or contact the band for alternative drop off options.
• Freshman, please bring your parent’s e-mail address and your e-mail address to the band rehearsals.  Most of our communications are done via e-mail and through the web site.

This Week’s Schedule

Monday, July 26th

• 9:00 - 10:00 am:  Section Leaders Only
• 10:00 -12:15 pm:  Full Band Morning Session
• 12:15 - 1:15 pm Lunch Break (on your own)
• 1:30 - 4:00 pm: Full Band, Afternoon Session

Tuesday-Friday: July 27th-July 29th

• 9:00-11:30 am — Morning Session, all instruments, M&M’s
• 11:30-12:45 — Lunch Break (on your own)

• 1:00-4:00 pm — Afternoon Session, all instruments, M&M’s

• Percussion time may vary.  At a minimum, they are present all of the times the band is present.

UNIFORM REMINDER

The band pants are hemmed at the shoe lace tie.  The hem should not break.  Uniforms must be clean and wrinkle free for performances.  Dinkles are to be clean and white, socks are to be real and white, gloves are to be white.  Make sure your child has their complete uniform before they come to school for a performance.
