The MHS Red & Blue Marching Band has been selected to perform in the 2009 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! This is considered quite an honor, as only 8 high school and 2 college marching bands are selected annually out of a field of more than 200. The last WV band to perform in the parade was in 1992. MHS last appeared in the parade in 1963. Congratulations band members (past, present and future)!
Macy’s Trip Uniform Check-in Schedule
There has been a change in the uniform check in schedule. This will coincide with the luggage check in prior to the trip. Please note the following dates and times.
· Friday, November 20, 6:00 pm, Brass and M&M’s
· Saturday, November 21, 9:00 am, Woodwinds and Percussion
Uniform pants will again be fitted and the strap buckles will be pinned into place. The cleaned uniforms are to be brought in the dry cleaners wrappings, with the receipt attached. Do not forget the cords, which will have been removed to get the uniform cleaned. The uniform bag needs to be brought as well, with the wood hangers distributed with the bags at the beginning of the school year. The wire hangers are not sturdy enough for the trip. Make sure you have clean white dinkels, white real socks, white gloves. The socks and gloves will be placed in the hat box.
