Band Auxiliary Minutes
August 1, 2006
The meeting was called to order by President Kim Nicholas in the cafeteria at 7:30pm. The minutes from the previous meeting were highlighted and the following reports were made.
Concessions –To reach Susan Unger you may email her at wbunger@adelphia.net or call 292-3028. A new roof has been put on the stand on the home side of the field.
Band Spectacular Program Book – Business ads are coming in and the parent ads are due Aug. 21st to Carla Sellaro.
Band Spectacular – There is a need for 2 runners, and 50/50 sellers. Tammy would like a few extra parents for last minute substitutions should they be needed.
Chaperones – If you are interested in helping out with special events and trips fill out the form. One may be found on the band website bandmhs.com.
Merchandise – Products will be made available in the Band Room following the meeting.
Stadium Seats – Help is needed for August 26th to install the “permanent” seats. A sign up sheet was passed.
Day Camp- It has been successful so far. They are almost finished charting the 1st song. The storage room has been cleaned out. A reminder: have kids eat breakfast!
Changes to the schedule:
Wednesday at the Coliseum 9:00 – 12:30 only
Thursday at MHS 9:00 – 12:30 only
Tuba and Percussion will stay to clean equipment
Friday is Picture Day at 10:00am (was changed to 8:45 following this meeting). Full uniforms are needed with the exception of the hats. The trailer will be packed following pictures. Please plan to stay and help.
Band Camp – Kim reviewed the list passed out to parents. Send a green, red, blue, and white shirt (any will do) for evening practices. It is a visual aid for charting.
Plan on 2-3 pair of socks per day and 1-2 pair of shoes. Remember khaki shorts, regular white socks, and dinkles.
Camp Schedule was reviewed. Then night events will be:
Monday: Talent Show and Ice Cream Social
Tuesday: Switch It Up Dance
Wednesday: Movie (probably “The Benchwarmers”)
Thursday: Hoedown with a quarter raffle to dance with the Seniors.
Camp Counselors were introduced.
Life After Camp – The week of August 14-18 is off! Mall rehearsals will be the 21st, 22nd, and 24th from 5:45-9:000. The first game is August 26th at 8:00pm. All band members need to report to the band room at 6:45!
Express Cards were passed out and the meeting was dismissed.
