Band Auxiliary Minutes
October 3, 2006
The meeting was called to order by President Kim Nicholas at 7:30pm in the school cafeteria. The treasurer’s report was read and approved. Discussion followed regarding the transfer of funds from one account into a higher paying money market. Annette Culberson moved to approve and Tammy Dalton second the motion. There was minimal discussion and the motion carried with a unanimous vote.
Concessions: Sue and Tom need help for October 13th. They asked for any freshman or sophomore parent to take the position for next year and to begin training this fall.
Spaghetti Dinner: A sign up sheet was passed for help. All Senior and Sophomore students are required to help. M n M’s will bus tables in shifts all night. Every band student needs to bring in 1 dozen individually wrapped cupcakes on the day of the dinner.
Elimination Dinner: Plans are going well. All tickets need to be sold by the end of October. A list was passed for people to sign up to help with the preparations and clean up.
Lottery: tickets and money are still being collected.
Chaperones: Contact Cindy Walden if you are available for the John Marshall game on October 20th. Buses will leave at 4:15-4:30 in order to beat the traffic.
Stadium Seats: So far we have raised $5,138.00 and anticipate another $2,000.00 still coming for the installation of the seats.
Mr. Reed Report:
Teacher conference announced.
No Marching Band practice on Thursday. Pep Band, Percussion and M n M’s only need to report.
Friday is a day off…enjoy!
Saturday the 7th is the Balloon Festival. The band will play at either 11 or 4, not confirmed yet. We will need to meet ½ hour before hand. Wear Band shirt and Jeans. M n M’s wear their section shirt and shorts.
Band will have rehearsal on the 9th from 3:00- 4:30.
The spaghetti dinner is the 10th.
Rehearsal on the 12th is from 3:00-4:30. We will meet at the top of High and Willey at 5pm for the MHS Homecoming parade. Wear any red, white, or blue MHS t-shirt, jeans, and dinkles.
WVU Homecoming: meet at 5:45 at the Den. Parade starts at 6:30, we are the second band. We will be in full uniform as after we march we will walk right into MHS stadium for the National Anthem at 7:20. We will perform the full show at Post Game.
October 27th is the Mohawk Bowl. The band will be bussed into the game. If child attended South, meet at MHS, if Suncrest, meet at the Coliseum for pick up.
There will be a full uniform inspection on the 13th. Have uniform dry cleaned!
Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Brass and the Choir will perform the “Spirit of America” concert Nov. 3rd and 4th at the MET. More details to come.
There is a major concern re: Stadium Seats for the October 14th game. It is also the MHS Homecoming Dance. Percussion will work, but we need to find replacements or parents to cover for any student missing due to the dance. Please arrive at the SouthEast Gate by 10:00am.
